Custom Sound Cut-off

Custom Sound Cut-off even with cache

By Pope Pius IX 1 year ago

I am creating a modification for several voice replacements for Coach.

I have followed the official step by step instructions.

  • Converted files to .wav with frequency 22050
  • Created folder with correct directories.
  • Created addoninfo.txt
  • Created a sound cache file via snd_buildsoundcachefordirectory <...>

Once my VPK is done, the sounds are STILL cut-off when I test them.

I have no idea how other modders get around this problem and I have no idea what to do.

Files being replaced: taunt01...taunt08

Please help.

Are your sounds the same length as the original?

No, those which are cut-off are longer. But as far as I know creating a sound cache file for them will extend the duration. That's what I have read.

If this is not true then please let me know.

And if this doesn't work, then how come there are mods around here with extended sound durations that WORK?
