Need help with left 4 dead 2 BG

I`ve been trying to get video rad tools to work for a while now, and i finally got it to compress one of my files this morning, although when i went into l4d2 the colours were all messed up

    Was the original file a still image or a movie clip? Was its resolution close to what the in-game screen is? Was the finished .bik showing those lines when you opened it in the RAD Tools, or just in-game? I'd suspect either a setting in RAD that got overlooked, or possibly an incompatible source file (either filetype or resolution).
